erm paiseh... already like 7 months here in kuching only wanna start writing....well, life here is great actually, i kinda like it here.. ppl are great, food is great, weather is nice...
ok lets talk about my first posting here in hospital umum sarawak... my first posting here is O&G
life is harsh at first... it is rumored that the 3 hardest postings in sgh are: first paed, second ortho and the third is O&G... so yeah... first day already kena shout dy.. not scold, is shout, for using 1 side of paper... yeah they're really particular with their budget here, so dont let them see u waste any form/ paper/ tube bottle... ctg paper have to be stopped if normal for 20 minutes... and dont use more than 2 piece of tissue paper if u wanna use to wipe off gel for patient after TAS... careful of Dr M and Dr N... both psycho for me if u ask,... but yeah eventually the drs here will treat u equally in the end, if u improve la...
4 months of training here in O&G will shape u well, atleast mentally... i actually quite glad taht i started with O&G first, actually the best is to start with medical or surgical, but i personally like how they treat first poster in O&G, yes they treat u harsh, but they train u well... dun afraid and embrace it... oh yeah and u re expected to do a csec and BTL before u end ur posting here, if not u will be extended another 1 month until u get it... extend for 2 months if u failed ur assessment... its nightmare for me during my forth month in the posting... camping EVERYNIGHT in hospital just to get the chance to do csec.... there is too many factors that decided your chance to do it.. first the HO OT call, second the MO oncall/ or the one in OT (if they have grudge with u before then better call it off), the anesth, the patient (basically we looking for poor progress of labour/ breech in labor) and sometime the NURSE, yes the nurse... i have a friend who cant do her csec just because of the nurse who dont allow, ridiculous right? well im lucky as there is a dr named dr jeremy who give me the chance to do it after like 3 -4 weeks of camping nonstop.... it all depend on luck, i have a fellow first poster friend who got his after 1 month....
